The Kathleen Mullally Foundation is a scholarship foundation committed to creating a society where no one feels they must choose between their children and their education. We provide a monetary grant scholarship for a pregnant or parenting students to further that vision.
The Foundation is dedicated to upholding every individual's inalienable right to life. We also acknowledge that our current society does not offer many support systems for students who encounter a conflict between upholding that value and pursuing their higher education. This scholarship is meant to provide students just such a support system in the form of a monetary grant. We especially encourage matriculated Queens College Students to apply.
I established the Foundation in 2020 to honor my dear aunt because of her great love and devotion for her many nieces and nephews.
The first recipient of the scholarship was Malika Pegues in July 2021. Malika is a Psycho-Neurobiology & Therapeutic Recreation Major at Queens College, CUNY. She attended online classes during the COVID-19 Pandemic from a domestic violence shelter while taking care of her three daughters. Malika is now a crisis counselor, and plans on completing her PhD in psychology.
