NYS Legislature Nixes Abortion Act

6/22/2013

Pro-Lifers have reason to celebrate today.

1--Abortion expansion blocked in NYS thanks to those who did so much to get out the truth and especially to those Senators and Assemblypersons who made the difference. More details to follow.

2--U.S. Congress approved banning late-term abortion--a truly historical vote took place on Thursday.  The door is open now to banning killing unborn children.  Please send thanks and acknowledgment to Representatives..   More details to follow.

Deo Gracias!

Analysis of Women's Equality Act Abortion Language

6/5/2013

Knowledge is power. See what Kathleen Gallagher has to say about the 'Women's Equality Act' and expansion of abortion in NYS.
----------------------------------------------------

Attached is the abortion language of the Governor’s newly-released women’s equality act, together with our analysis of that language (hat tip to Ed Mechmann for helping us out.) The language is much shorter than the “Reproductive Health Act” and may seem to be innocuous at first blush. It is being promoted by the Governor and women’s groups as “simple codification of Roe v. Wade,” which they claim is the “law of the land.”

This is not true, of course, and in some ways, the bill is more dangerous than the Reproductive Health Act: for example, unlike the RHA where viability was defined, the new language permits the abortion of any child who is not “viable,” and allows the abortionist to define viability. It also allows the Health Department to decide who may perform abortions, and doesn’t limit it to health care professionals as the RHA did. So it is really a “stealth” abortion expansion act.

Say 'No' To Expanded Abortion Act in NYS

Thank you, again, NYSRLC!

This Governor and any NYS Legislator who cooperate in promoting the "Womens' Equality Act" w/o removing its RHA provisions are a disgrace.

The hubris and brazen deceit displayed by this Governor is just too much for the heart.

Please make copies of the NYSRLC statement and flyer below and circulate among parishes, clubs, groups, families and friends.

This bill is but another example of deceitful executives and leislators trouncing on your rights and values.
